About the Radiology
Department

It involves the diagnosis of multiple tests which require images of various parts of the body. We do CT scan, MRI, X ray, USG scan and mammogram etc. Early diagnosis is needed to identify detailed information about the condition to provide better treatment.

We have a special team of radiographers whose roles are not only limited to carry out a diagnosis but also provide mental and physical support to the patients for the tests. As these techniques involves radiation, our radiologists are well trained in radiation safety and precautions. They help the physicians to interpret the images appropriately.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions Answered

Absolutely. Many conditions — including tumors, infections, strokes, kidney stones, fractures, and heart problems — can be detected early through radiology. That’s why doctors often recommend imaging even if physical symptoms are mild.

A CT scan uses X-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images of your body, and it’s often faster and more suitable in emergencies. MRI, on the other hand, uses magnetic fields and radio waves — making it better for soft tissue evaluation, like the brain, spine, joints, or muscles. MRI does not use radiation, but it takes longer and may not be available in all hospitals. At Sunrise Hospital, we coordinate referrals for MRI if needed while providing in-house CT for fast diagnostics.
